Life at Chiltern

Life as a Chiltern College student is very busy, but very rewarding and enjoyable.

The campus is within walking distance of the lively university town centre of Reading, with the Oracle shopping centre and a range of restaurants, clubs etc, which adjoin the Kennet canal. There is also a wide range of sporting, cultural and social activities on offer locally. Caversham is a 5 minute walk away, where you will find a library, coffee shops, gyms, restaurants, shops, banks, hairdressers, etc.

Reading has excellent rail, road and air links and is within easy distance of some of England’s historic locations such as Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, Oxford University and Blenheim Palace.

Residential students have their own study bedroom in the dedicated student accommodation, where they can work and relax. There will also be the opportunity to socialise with other students in communal areas. A selection of hot and cold meals are served in our dining room at the centre of the College.

New students soon become part of and join in all aspects of College life. We participate in a number of fundraising activities for Great Ormond Street Hospital, with whom we have established links over the years. We also host two visits each year from The Lily Academy, who have a childcare training college with its own nurseries and school in Mito, Japan. In addition we hold a number of College events such as our Student themed meals, our Christmas Carol Service and Nursery Fun Day in the College gardens.
